WHY ARE WE GIVING THEM USELESS?

What were the songs that got you through your teens? What fashion identities did you try on before determining your style? What books filled your imagination, leading your daydreaming to curious spaces? What films make you cry now?

Imagine a world without music, without books, no paintings, no photos, no YOU TUBE, fashion, design, architecture, poetry, literature, movies, jewellery, hats, shoes, beautiful cars.... none of it. How does it feel? Boring? Grey? Lonely?

So why do WE, yes WE, continue to allow successive Australian Governments to reduce funding and creative services to public schools, particularly in the regional and remote parts of this amazing landscape.

I hazard a guess that most politicians in high level positions went to private schools (and I am hoping I am wrong). Is it that elite schools can afford the arts and culture, whilst the rest of the populace, lets face it, become the workers?

THE ARTS SHOULD be CORE studies of curriculum with MATHS and LANGUAGE STUDIES. The arts allow us to express deep selves, the arts fulfill us.

Why is THIS government continually killing access to our deep selves?
